Wickenburg Art Club’s Yarnell Donation
The Wickenburg Art Club (WAC) is hosting the families who lost their homes in the Yarnell Hill Fire in a “Make Your House into a Home” artwork give-away on Saturday, April 5, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Each of the more than 120 families who lost their homes completely or had their homes substantially damaged in the fire will be able to choose at least one free piece of artwork to help them make their new and repaired houses into a real homes. YC Students Earning National Recognition
The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society has announced that Yavapai College students Megan Daubert and Taylor Haynes have been named 2014 Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team Scholars. Daubert, a biology major with a 4.0 GPA, was named a Gold Scholar and will receive a $1,500 scholarship and a special medallion. Prescott Valley Enforcing False Alarm Ordinance
The Town of Prescott Valley has started enforcing its new false alarm ordinance. The ordinance is intended to reduce false alarm calls by 50 percent or more through education, assessments for repeated false alarms and enhanced call verification. Prescott Valley Police officers respond to more than 1,000 false alarm calls each year. Less than one percent of these have been found to be actual criminal events.
