Scheduled to be televised by FOX Sports Arizona, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Men’s Basketball will play a regular season game against Northern Arizona University (NAU) on Friday, Nov. 20, on the Navajo Nation. The game will take place at the BeeHoldzil Fighting Scouts Events Center in Window Rock at 7 p.m.
“To be able to get up north and play in Window Rock on the Navajo Nation is huge for us,” said Eagles Head Coach Eric Fundalewicz. “Being a first-year program, it’s very important to get out across the state and spread the Embry-Riddle name to areas that might not know we exist. Playing on TV gives us that same feeling.”
The new basketball program at Embry-Riddle has been a hit with students on campus as well as the Prescott community, drawing large crowds for their first two home games. Considering the BeeHoldzil Fighting Scouts Event Center seats 6,500 fans, the Eagles will be playing in front of their largest crowd to date.
“We’re excited for this opportunity and look forward to it,” said Fundalewicz. “Making it even more exciting is to play a very good Division I program and my alma mater. We’re honored to be a part of this game and excited that NAU would present this opportunity to us.”
Before facing NAU, the Eagles will play two games as part of the Desert Reign Hydrocephalus Invitational in Las Vegas.
