An investment in their education at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is paying off for graduates whose tuition dollars are reaping financial and career rewards in a trying job market, according to national salary data collector studies.
In a recent study evaluating thousands of colleges, Embry-Riddle’s Prescott Campus in Arizona was named to AffordableCollegeOnline.org’s “Million Dollar ROI” (Return On Investment) rankings for 2013. This list identifies the top one percent of U.S. private colleges whose graduates out-earn non-degree holders by at least $1 million during their careers.
With so much national awareness and sensitivity concerning the cost of a college education, this recognition of the value of the investment students make in themselves at Embry-Riddle is high praise.
AC Online developed the following criteria for consideration as a High ROI College:
Fully accredited institution, either public or private, four-year, degree-granting institution, ROI according to PayScale’s 2013 College Value Report.
AC Online compiled a list of schools meeting these criteria by using the following authoritative data sets:
NCES, the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education. It provides indicators of education status and trends.
IPEDS, the primary federal source for data on colleges, universities and technical and vocational postsecondary schools in the U.S.
Carnegie Classification, a framework widely used in the study of higher education, both as a way to represent and control for institutional differences, and also in the design of research studies to ensure adequate representation of sampled institutions, students or faculty.
Payscale.com, the premier salary data collection organization. Each year, PayScale compiles statistics from public, private and for-profit schools while also surveying their graduates who earned a bachelor’s degree and are employed full-time in the United States.
