A Little Love is Good for the Soul

February is the month of love. What better time to take stock of the things in our lives that we love. No doubt, the last couple of years have been challenging. It’s been easy to find fault, unhappiness, worry and feel a lack of love now and then. I just want to take a moment and pay tribute to the things many of us love during this Valentine’s season.

Love our Home, Family and Friends

Whether a family is large or small, I think most people would put this category at the top of their list of things in their life to love. My greatest memories, my greatest achievements, always include something to do with family or good friends. Even those with little or no family close often will attest to the importance of friends in their lives. Let us be thankful for the relationships that we make and nurture.

Love our Pets

Talk about unconditional love. Our pets bring so much needed solace in difficult times. This community is a pet-loving community. Just look at the parks and the courthouse grounds during a weekend. They are full of people walking alongside their dogs, visiting, getting exercise and enjoying our beautiful surroundings. Our pets put aside our faults and quirks and are happy to see us even at our worst.

Love our Community

What a place we live in! The beauty of the mountains, prairies, rocks and lakes is amazing. We can wake up each day, and if we take the time, we can soak up the beauty that is here for us. As wonderful as the landscape is, it’s the people, the businesses, the community of relationships that makes this place special. People come from all over the country to experience what we have here, every day. The events and recreation here make our community a fun place to be, and the people make it a place to love.

Love our Country

With all the craziness in the world, we sometimes forget the sacrifices so many have made for us. Throughout the ages and throughout the world, there are so many places and times where we could be, but instead, we are here, now. We have our freedoms and the beauty of this land. I love to see people express their love of country.
